Who We Are
Lioness Lactation, LLC is the corporate umbrella for the Lioness Lactation, Nekisha Killings, and The Melanated Mammary Atlas® brands. Founded in 2010, Lioness Lactation LLC has over a decade of alignment with a single mission: to provide competent and compassionate care to families in the perinatal period. While our services have expanded significantly, our care approach remains unchanged.
We are still the same organization at heart. We provide the same competent and compassionate lactation support through our historic Lioness Lactation brand. We have added health professional education through The Melanated Mammary Atlas® and equity training & facilitation services by our owner, Nekisha Killings MPH IBCLC. We are committed to supporting organizations that are ready to do the work of applying inclusive strategies to best serve their communities. Nekisha Killings MPH IBCLC is an equity strategist and maternal and child health advocate who speaks, teaches, and facilitates on topics related to equity and dismantling bias across various sectors. She consults organizations on creating and implementing strategies to better support marginalized communities.
Nekisha penned the chapter titled Cultural Humility in the 2018 and 2022 editions of Core Curriculum for Interdisciplinary Lactation Care. Coined the Aha! Moment Maven, Nekisha works to wow audiences with new realizations that will impact their approach to business and life positively. In 2018, she co-founded Nikki & Nikki: Lactation Career Consultants, an organization dedicated to equipping aspirants of color to sit the IBCLC exam. Nekisha is on a mission to normalize brown breasts® in health provider education, thereby better equipping providers to accurately diagnose and treat people of color. Accordingly, she founded The Melanated Mammary Atlas® in 2021.
Nekisha‘s work is rooted in a compassion and candor that could only have been cultivated in years of supporting new parents through their first days of parenthood. To eager audiences, she extends her own brand of wisdom, wit, and eureka moments to shift the way they approach life and work.

Cares
Lioness Lactation Cares is the charitable arm of Lioness Lactation LLC.
Lioness Lactation is so much more than lactation support. We are deeply rooted in the Black community and invested in serving families of color who cannot afford clinical lactation support. Through our partnership with F&L Organizational Support Services, we offer free support groups and “pay what you can” lactation support by a board-certified lactation consultant, meeting families wherever they are and then supporting them through reaching their lactation goals. We host community giving events such as community baby showers wherein underserved families may obtain free education, tools, and resources to support them on their parenting journey. Some of these resources include free classes, breastfeeding tools like pumps and nursing bras, and menstruation supplies through a partnership with PERIOD.
